ROBINS

This was taken at attenbourgh nature reserve on the outskirts of Nottingham just outside Long Eaton,Its has various hides and shelters around the site with easy accses for all people with or without disabillaties,I took this one with my nikon d300s with a 80/400 telephoto lense at its maximum focal lenth of 400 at1/400sec at f6.3 aperture with an iso set at 500 which i was amazed to see i had no noise on the picture  ,with an iso that high i usually get a grainier photo ,but i could of slowed down the shutter speed if i had got noise and then also reduced my iso to componsate.I took this free hand and i dont think i could of got it any sharper even on a tripod. This photo was also used on a Cats charity xmas card which i am quite pleades about.

These next two shots were taken at Cannock Chase and they look very simular but were taken on different branches , again with a Nikon D300s with a 80/400 telephoto lense ,i was actually waiting for a Nuthatch and could not resist the Robins as they came for the food i had put down for the Nuthatch, one the first picture i have actually caught a few water droplets on the bottom of the red breast which i still dont know were they came from as there was no water aroud the area, these were both taken at 400 m with an iso of 250 at f5.6at 320sec ,i particually like the sharp images with the blurred background of brush and grass.

  1. I love your robins, especially the one with its mouth open because of the white background it stands out really well.
